Our Tour de France programs are shared with you below. We are purposely including a mix of Tour stage viewing along with the flexibility to take personal time to relax and/or ride more as well as minimizing the driving time. I hope that you can join us for a memorable vacation to the heart of cycling’s holy grail, the Tour de France.

HIGHLIGHTS
All Inclusive:
All ground transfers from designated arrival point to departure point. Fully supported rides with water, energy bars & mechanical support. 7 of 8 lunches and 8 of 9 dinners included.

Premier Accommodations:
we ensure that you will receive the best accommodation that is available in the region.

Hands-on Expertise: Ex-professional cyclist and Tour de France Yellow Jersey holder, Alex Stieda will ride (and eat!) with our group every day of the trip. Alex will provide daily, skills-based riding clinics specific to the terrain that we ride each day.

Intimate Experience: A maximum of 20 clients with 6 support staff (fully subscribed group) makes this trip a fully catered experience.

Flexibility: We provide flexibility in the daily itinerary so that you don’t feel like you are holding up the group or having to wait.

Custom Sugoi Cycling Clothing: Everyone will receive 2, custom Stieda Cycling Sugoi jerseys; 2 pair Sugoi shorts; a Sugoi wind breaker and 2 pairs of custom DeFeet socks.

Best Day: View the start in Bourg d'Oisans and then the race pass through on the steep pitches of the Glandon/Croix de Fer.

Toughest Ride: Challenge day when we ride the south side of Galibier, Télégraphe, Glandon, Croix de Fer and more if you're up to it!

Coolest Inclusion: it's a tie between the helicopter transfer off of L'Alpe d'Huez and our balconied suite at the 5-star Hotel Crillon which provides a spectacular view of the final-day finishing circuit in Paris. After the race ends, we have great access to the Place de la Concorde staging area for the final parade of Tour teams.

Viewing Stats: stage finish, 1 x mountain top finish,1 stage start, 2 mountain pass-throughs, 1 feed zone

Bonus # 1: A television producer will be along to record our trip on digital video after which he will produce a ‘bikeumentary’ of our trip for an additional $125 USD fee.

Bonus # 2: We only stay at three hotels (4 star and 4 star deluxe) for our 10-day trip, making for a more relaxing and enjoyable cycling vacation. Great hotels and great food!

Daily Rides: 2 short, 3 medium, 3 long

DAILY PREVIEW

Day 1 (Saturday, July 15): Arrival in Lyon airport. We'll help you put your bike together and get you out on a short ride to get your legs moving and catch the stage finish on TV.

Day 2 (Sunday, July 16): drive and ride to view the stage finish in Gap. Option to ride the Izoard this day.

Day 3 (Monday, July 17): Tour rest day so we'll challenge ourselves with a ride tracing Wednesday's stage over the Galibier, Croix-de-Fer, Télégraphe, and Glandon (or any portion that you would care to do!). For fun, we'll call it Le Grand Cercle de Mort (The Big Circle of Death!).

Day 4 (Tuesday, July 18): ride up through the crazed crowds of L'Alpe d'Huez on race day, lunch at the top and then a helicopter transfer back to our hotel to avoid the craziness of riding down the Alpe.

Day 5 (Wednesday, July 19): ride to Bourg d'Oisans to view the start and then ride up the back side of Glandon to view the race pass over this steep col. We'll change hotels today to the gorgeous Hotel Imperial situated directly on Lake Annecy.

Day 6 (Thursday, July 20): Choice of riding from our hotel or driving part way to view the race on either the Colombiere or the finish col of Joux Plane. Picnic before the race arrives. Drive or ride back to the hotel.

Day 7 (Friday, July 21): Drive and ride to view the chaos of a feedzone! Ride or drive back to hotel. Or, do a local ride and hang at our luxurious hotel on Lake Annecy.

Day 8 (Saturday, July 22): After a short drive to the train station we’ll transfer to Paris via a First Class seat on the roomy and ultra-fast train, the TGV. You then have the afternoon to explore Paris but we'll be sure to watch the excellent race coverage of the time trial on TV.

Day 9 (Sunday, July 23, Final TdF stage): We take a traditional cyclist’s morning tour of Paris with a ‘pilgrimage’ ride in an urban park. After the post-ride brunch, it's a five-minute stroll over to the secure zone and our race viewing suite at the Hotel Crillon. Our post-race street party gives us ample opportunity to wind down and embellish the stories of our ten days following the Tour circus.

Day 10 (Monday, July 24): For those leaving Paris today, airport transfers are included and pre-arranged by the Stieda Cycling staff, making for an easy departure. Au Revoir!

Friday, July 21 - Arrival: check into the 4-star Deluxe, Sofitel le Faubourg, located in the district of prestigious French design houses, and relax.

Saturday, July 22– Enjoy Paris: you have the day to enjoy Paris as you like. The Faubourg is located near many famous Parisian landmarks. Luxurious shopping and wonderful restaurants are just a few steps away.

Sunday, July 23– TDF Race Finish: our exclusive, private viewing suites in the Hotel Crillon offer an amazing view of the finishing circuit. After the race, we will sponsor a party at a nearby Paris bistro and celebrate the conclusion of the 2006 Tour de France.
