Hawaii Skills-based Bike Camp with Alex Stieda & Chris Huber

Highlights

Get out of the cold and rain! Come to beautiful Kailua-Kona, Hawaii for an early season vacation and an incredible opportunity to ride, train, and learn from Chris Huber's and Alex Stieda’s 20 plus years of combined professional cycling experience.

Round out your skill and fitness levels.
Chris and Alex will give daily lectures in the following key areas designed to raise your confidence and riding ability, then each day we'll take it on the road for practice:

Bike setup and riding position
Cornering and descending techniques
Paceline and group riding (drafting)
Sprinting (technique and tactics)
Race strategy and tactics
Training methods
Heart rate monitor usage

Put your new skills and knowledge to the test at the Hard Rock Criterium (this USCF-sanctioned race is optional).

In addition to the training, the camp includes incredible accommodations as we make our way around the island. We spend our first four nights at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Hotel at the Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Kohala Coast. Our fifth night will be spent at the Kilauea Lodge in the otherworldly Volcano National Park. Our last two nights we'll stay at the Royal Kona Resort. The USCF-sanctioned criterium race is scheduled for Saturday morning in Kona. If you are not a racer, have a blast watching and cheering on your fellow campers!

And there's more: All breakfasts are included and we've arranged three fantastic dinners—one to kick off the camp, the second a catered beach barbecue, and then a send-off meal on Friday evening. The rest of the time you are free to sample any of the great restaurants in or around Kona.
